Inside this rather substantial aluminum box is a water cooled laser diode.  The unit looks complete except for the output beam electronics.  The optics mounts are included though.
The image above shows the power supply cooling fan, the liquid cooling line quick couplings and the signal modulation inputs.
The image below shows where the beam comes out.  Note the optical mounts on rail.
The image above shows the unit with the top lid removed.  The laser diode is the most gold colored part mounted on a cooling block.
In the image below, you see a closer view of the laser.  The beam has to come out between the upper gold colored part and the lower copper colored part.  There are Swagelok fittings that connect the cooling lines to the larger cooling block.
The laser is marked GK450 on the side.  The power supply in the case that provides the current to it is rated to 35 amps and 8 volts.  The wiring is similarly sized.  Thus the liquid cooling needs to dissipate something approaching  280 watts.  The lase module is about .985" wide.  The center section is about .394" wide.  Front to back, not counting the cylindrical electrical connection, is about .61".  Height is about .39".  The diode is connected to the internal circuitry of the box and the power supply.
The image above shows the connection to the back of the laser, along with a power semiconductor that is most likely being used as a diode.  There is a tiny label on the laser that says cathode (-) but no other identifier that we can make out.

The 36 pounds looks to mostly be the rather massive aluminum container.

Condition looks good functional used except for missing optics.  The unit powers up but assume water would have to flow for the laser to power up--plus we don't know what it needs for modulation signal.  Sold as-is.  We don't have any documentation and have no idea regarding the details for the laser diode.

Winning bidder pays all packing and shipping costs in addition to bid amount unless picked up at source (zip 87124 or 87109). (Note that packing & shipping charges are based on weight, size and fragility and have nothing to do with the bid price. Something with a bid price that is almost free could be big, heavy and fragile with commensurately significant P&S charges.) This also means that if the trucking company comes up with extra charges after delivery, the buyer will be required to pay these charges in addition to the quoted amount. Very small items of only a few ounces generally go first class mail with no insurance and no tracking. Items of only a couple pounds usually go priority mail with no insurance and no tracking. FedEx ground is currently our shipper of choice for most items more than a couple pounds. (that have a packed weight less than 150 pounds and are small enough to meet FedEx Ground package size restrictions.) FedEx ground automatically includes 0 insurance and tracking. Used items by truck are only insured for 10 cents per pound

If you do not include a delivery contact phone number with your shipping address and there is a problem with delivery, you will be on your own for tracking it down and you will not get a refund and you will have to pay for both the return and redelivery shipping cost (if redelivery is an option)!
Items that weigh more than 150 pounds or are bigger than 130" length plus girth must ship by motor freight carrier, preferably freight collect. Please note that used items shipped by truck are only insured at 10 cents per pound. Extra insurance is no longer available on used goods. Allow several weeks
for larger items to get packed and picked up by a truck. We can't schedule shipping until we have a delivery contact phone number.
Payment via Paypal is strongly recommended as it cuts about a week off delivery delay. If payment is not received within 7 days of notification of total amount due, transaction is subject to being listed as failed for non-payment and the item being sold to another buyer.
