    This 34 page publication details the men guarding British Prisoners of War at the Salisburg jail during the American Revolution (1778-1779). The prisoners were then forced to make shoes for the colonist soldiers. The records have been transcribed from the original records in the North Carolina State Archives. The names have been transcribed as close to the original spelling with a second possible spelling added in some cases. These records help place a person in a smaller area of the county for a time and help separate persons with the same name. Small Booklet.
